Sustainability
Bellway Homes' construction specification includes high levels of insulation in the roof, floors and external wall, with a high level of glazing specification in each home, achieving robust standards of thermal efficiency.
Our specification delivers robust standards of energy efficiency and comfortably betters the minimum standards of the Building Regulations, meaning energy efficiency is at the very fabric of our buildings and will persist for the lifetime of new homes.

New public open space
Having been approved, the development will see a substantial provision of public outdoor amenity space delivered. This includes the delivery of over 1.5 hectares of public open space, woodland, play area, allotment provision and sustainable drainage. These spaces will be open to all, and designed to foster a strong sense of community, creating places in which people will want to visit and dwell.
The allotments will provide a social benefit alongside an environmental one; helping to meet an existing need within the local area and being available to existing and future residents.
Throughout the development higher value habitats such as the boundary hedgerows will be retained and enhanced where possible, while new flowering meadows, hedgerows and trees will be created to provide further habitat space for native species. As part of the development a new woodland belt and associated wildflower meadow will be introduced to the west of the site.
Attenuation basins will be used to introduce aquatic and marginal habitats. The basins will be designed to look natural with gently sloping edges to provide a gradient into the water with deeper areas in the middle.
